Seeing Double

I was so excited to do my first ever twins shoot!!! I was wondering how it would work out trying to get two babies to look at the camera at the same time. Well Whitney and Carter were complete naturals, in fact I think modeling could be in their future (: I loved every single shot from their session that I wanted to put all 60 on here, but I thought it was a bit over kill. Here are some of my favorites.

2nd Birthday Pics!

This is the second time I had the honor of shooting this fabulous family! Their adorable little girl just turned two and they wanted to get some shots of her and their family. We couldn't of asked for a more perfect day!

New Business

After months of deciding whether I should pursue photography or not I finally decided to bite the bullet. I realized that if you have a passion for something, life is short and you should go for it. Thank you for all those who supported me in this journey to get to this place. You can now find me at my website: www.jennisandmeyerphotography.com .

Volunteer Park with Lauren

So I cannot believe I have lived here almost 10 years and have never been to this park! It is fabulous and the day couldn't have been better to shot Lauren. It was slightly overcast so the light was perfect. Of course Lauren is so beautiful I seriously couldn't get a bad shot of her!

Day with Natalie

I grew up going to George Rogers Park in Lake Oswego, Oregon, so when my dear friend Elizabeth suggested we take pictures of her adorable daughter Natalie there I got so excited. I hadn't been there probably in about 12 years but soon discovered not much had changed. This park is amazing because it has not only a playground but a draw bridge, grassy fields and access to a little beach!

Finding the "Catch Light"

I just joined a great photography club and feel so lucky to have this forum where I get together with a bunch of mother's who all have the same interest: taking better pictures (especially of their kids!). We had a wonderful guest speaker last night, local Seattle photographer- Janet Klinger who talked about the importance of "finding the catch light". I had gone over this with Mimi a few weeks ago, but it was great to get more practice! We had the opportunity to shoot a member's darling newborn for practice. Lauren was adorable and a wonderful sport. Today I tried to get Megan in the position where I could find the perfect light- I have posted a few of my attempts.

First Mentoring Session

I had my first mentoring session with the very talented photographer, Mimi Inglin. I am so lucky to get to learn a few things from her. Here are some pictures from our session this last week. Thanks to adorable Henry for being my model!!

4th of July 2009

It is a tradition to spend the 4th of July at my husband's parents home in the San Juan Islands. We are so fortune to be able to have the island to experience the holiday! It is a celebration like non other- filled with bbq's, town parades and the annual baseball game held on a real like "Field of Dreams".

Two Brothers

I had the best time shooting these two cute brother's, Max and Jack. They were so much fun and had me running around all over the park trying to get shots. I love how wild and crazy little boys are and how they challenged me to keep up with them!

Stella Pearle

Sweet Stella! I had such a fun time taking her pictures. This little 3 -week old was such a good model and hardly made a peep the entire time. What a beautiful little baby girl!

Gabi

I took Shelly's maternity pictures (posted earlier in the blog) just four days before Gabi was born. What a pretty baby and I love the colors of her nursery.

Kate

Yesterday I had the best time photographing my dear friend Christina's little girl, Kate. She is and always has been one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen. I tried to challenge myself and shoot the entire time in manual setting. This was quite a challenge for me being a new photographer and trying to adjust my settings to get the perfect exposure inside and out while chasing an almost two year old! I adore photographing kids, but it is quite the workout! Here are some of my very favorite shots of yesterday. Thank you Christina and Kate for letting me follow you around all afternoon.
